The Sikh Students Association at CSUS was originally founded in 1997, as a way for students to express their religion in a positive atmosphere. The Goals and the scope of the organization changed in 2001 after the tragic events that took place on September 11th. The necessity to represent the CSUS Sikh Students, and to educate non-Sikhs in the community about Sikhism become obvious. The organization shifted focus and started many new programs to educate people about Sikhism and Indian culture in 2006, when the cultural component was added. Today the organization is stronger than ever, and we are continuing to change and adapt as the needs of our community change.
